Bye bye Ben
He’s been a regular fixture with GMTV for a decade, but today, Ben Shephard signed off from the commercial breakfast show for the very last time.
Shephard’s contract with the show was not renewed by GMTV who have made it clear there is no room for Ben (or his wages) on the sofa with poached One Show BBC dream team Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley.
In a rather emotional farewell (by breakfast television standards) a host of colleagues and former presenters cropped up in a ‘best of Ben’ video that the producers had thrown together to mark his departure.
After a magnanimous set of thanks to everyone on the show, he delivered an upbeat message to his fans:
“There’s lots of things going on and I’m sure I’ll be seeing you again, but for the time being, let’s have a lie in.”
