+++UPDATE – HERE’S EPISODE 2+++
It’s been a long wait for Alan Partridge fans, but today, one of the comedy icons of the 1990s has bounced back … onto the Internet.
Now presenting Mid Morning Matters on North Norfolk Digital radio, Alan has got a new co-presenter in the shape of Sidekick Simon (Tim Key), but apart from a scaled back approach to production – it’s all set in the radio studio – this first 13 minute instalment is classic Partridge.
The show is written by Steve Coogan and Armando Iannucci and sponsored by the beer magnates Foster’s who are attempting revive some of the favourite British comedy characters and programmes of yesteryear … by throwing money at them … and good gravy it’s worked.
In the first episode, viewers are treated to a sublime phone in on condiments, a discussion as to the merits of Anthea Turner and Alan’s attempt to ride ten miles in thirty minutes on a static exercise cycle with special guest Jim Jones … not the man from the massacre.
But you don’t want to hear what I’ve got to say about the show, you just want to get stuck in and watch the hilarity unfold, so without further ado, here’s the first part of Alan Partridge’s micro-episodes, there will be another one next Friday, and every Friday for the next couple of months …
