Killzone 3: the return to Helghan
Killzone®3, exclusive to PlayStation®3 [PS3™], is due to be released on 25th February. It promises an explosive cinematic experience more intense than ever before, where players join brave ISA forces as they continue their fight against the despicable Helghast.
The follow-up to 2009’s celebrated shooter Killzone 2, Killzone 3 betters its predecessor with bigger guns, beautiful visuals and the addition of a co-op mode allowing you to take on the forces of the Helghast with a buddy in split-screen.
Killzone 3 will feature more vehicles, explosive high-powered weapons and a vicious close-combat system – and with so much at stake, it has never been so critical to know your enemy. With this in mind, developers Guerilla Games have set up an online bootcamp to prepare you for another assault on Helghan.
The ISA’s Ultimate Recruit Live Fire, open online at 1200 hrs GMT today (24th February), takes preparation for war to a whole new level. The ultimate question – will you make the grade?
Enter your guide throughout the experience, Drill Sergeant McCain, an experienced ISA military campaigner. His no-nonsense approach to soldiering will ensure he weeds out the wheat from the chaff. He will deliver briefings from a campaign hub site (http://ultimaterecruit.killzone.com/) and recruits will earn a coveted guaranteed place on the Live Fire Range.
Successful recruits will take full control of a recovered Helghast StA 52 Assault Rifle, and fire at fully mechanized targets, equipped with hit sensors to give real-time feedback and scoring. Best of all they can do it all from the comfort of their own desktop.
Each recruit’s range performance is scrutinized by the ever-vigilant Drill Sergeant and only those who display extraordinary poise and control when firing, will satisfy his exacting standards. If you score low, don’t expect an easy ride – forgiveness is definitely not one of his virtues.
