Arcade Fire confirm special Hyde Park show – joined by Mumford & Sons

How many in the band again?

Canadian Alt-Rockers Arcade Fire have now confirmed details of their much rumoured summer show in London’s Hyde Park on June 30th.

Having finished their well received UK tour last month in fine style, whispers a plenty immediately emerged regards something special being planned for 2011.

The seven- piece, based in Montreal, are due to also be joined by Mumford & Sons, Beirut and current indie darlings The Vaccines at the one-off summer gig.

This will now be Arcade Fire’s biggest  headline show to date, having returned last year with  3rd album ‘The Suburbs’ they played The O2 Arena.

‘The Suburbs’ has also led the band to be nominated for two Brit Awards this year including ‘International Album’ and ‘International Group’. In addition they are also up for 3 Grammys including Album Of The Year.

Consisting of husband & wife duo Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, with Will Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufield and Jeremy Gara, Arcade Fire will also dip into their critically acclaimed 2004 debut ‘Funeral’ and follow up ‘Neon Bible’ released in 2007 to wow the Hyde Park crowd.  Songs such as ‘Neighbourhood 3 (Power Out)’  and ‘Keep The Car Running’  are sure the be the anthemic highlights.

Tickets for the Hyde Park show , priced £48.50, go on sale 9am Friday January 28th.
