Cast return with 'Troubled Times'...

Britpop aficionados have fought long and hard over the 20 pairs of tickets available to the intimate gig of Absolute Radio and Hard Rock Cafe’s latest performers, Cast. And now the lucky few count the hours to the reformed band’s Absolute Radio Session at London’s Hard Rock Cafe tomorrow evening (22nd February).  The bad news is that if you’re reading this, you’re probably not one of them.  But bear with us – we’ve got some good news for you too…

The Liverpudlian four-piece formed all the way back in 1992, enjoying ten Top Ten singles, a double platinum and a platinum album, and attracting impressive hyperbole, such as being described as ‘The Who of the nineties’.  Their debut album ‘All Change’ became the highest selling album in their record label’s history, surpassing the efforts of even Jimi Hendrix.

To their fans, Cast have always been better than ‘Alright’ (sorry!), as nearly a decade at the top of the British music scene is testament.  And having split up in 2001, the band reformed in 2010, having a sellout UK tour before retiring to the studio to work on their fifth studio album.

Now Cast are back with ‘Troubled Times’ due for release on 5th March.  And while fans will be able to hear highlights from the Hard Rock Cafe gig on Absolute Radio on 7th March from 9pm, and on Absolute Radio 90s the following night, Cast will be back on the road in March and April for a full UK tour.

Starting their tour in Sheffield on 27th March, SJM Concerts will bring Cast back to their hometown on 31st March, taking in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester and Birmingham before finishing in the Shepherds Bush O2 Empire on 6th April.

We told you there’d be good news for Cast fans…
