Video: Thom Yorke plays ‘new Radiohead song’ at The Big Chill

Yorke hints at the flavour of a new Radiohead disc

Thom Yorke treated festival goers to what he introduced as “a new Radiohead song” on Friday night during his acoustic solo set at The Big Chill festival.

Although Yorke has played the unreleased track, Give Up The Ghost, on several previous occasions live, this is the first time he’s gone as far as to suggest it will be one of the new tracks to feature on an upcoming Radiohead album.

Fans will be excited to hear that time and energy is going into writing a new long play disc which will be the first for the band since their 2007 effort, Rainbows which attracted critical acclaim and topped the album charts in both the UK and the US.

Beginning with an audio loop, Yorke strummed out the emotional ballad Give Up the Ghost near the end a set which included Radiohead standards, I Might be Wrong and Planet Telex, as well as several songs from his 2006 solo album Eraser.
