When Evans ruled Channel 4 light entertainment

It’s been over a decade since TFI Friday left our screens, but today Channel 4 has announced BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Chris Evans is to return to the network for a daredevil celebrity game show in the new year.

Famous and Fearless will be hosted by Evans and see celebrity contestants pit their wits against a range of urban and extreme sports challenges which are set to include BMXing, Street luge and Monster Trucks.

The show will be broadcast live over six nights in January on Channel 4 in front of an audience of 5000 people at the Echo Arena Liverpool.

Evans will be joined by co-presenter Clare Balding who will be trackside with the contestants and reporting on all the live action.

It sounds a bit like The Games (you remember, the mini-celebrity Olympics on C4) but with much more stupid challenges and less of Kirsty Gallagher.

Chris Evans said:  ’Famous and Fearless will be brilliant. Simply a huge, ambitious show with celebrities, monster trucks and an arena crowd, live every night. What’s not to like? It will be a week like no other and I can’t wait to be at the heart of it.’

The contest begins January 2nd on Channel 4.  Tickets are free (I think they’d have to be) and people with too much time on their hands can register for seats now at www.channel4.com/fearless
