Charley Speed delivers a fatal blow to one of the models, but which one?

Britain’s Next Top Model

Cycle 6, episode 4

Living TV, Monday July 26th, 9pm

If you’re still in shock from Rachelle’s exit last week, you’re not going to believe the high drama that Elle and the gang have got in store for you this week.

There’s no time to the mourn the loss of their co-model – the girls are straight off to Models 1 (the company that will represent the winner) to meet Julien and Fraser, who duly send them on their way to Miss Sixty and then William Tempest. As you might expect, a Lady Gaga soundtrack accompanies, again.

The Miss Sixty guys ask them to strike a pose that represents the brand – most of the girls are complimented … but one of our hopefuls really gets it in the neck.

“She didn’t make any justice to the outfit, and didn’t do any justice to herself” says Fraser, “I wouldn’t see her as being a model for our agency at all.” adds Julien, blimey, this girl is in real trouble.

Amba is ruffling feathers

Off to William Tempest, and after getting over the excitement of meeting a designer the contestants are asked to whack on one of his dresses and do a quick run down the catwalk at Billy himself. Tiffany attracts high praise: “Tiffany looked really great in the dress, and I think she has what it takes to be a top model”, but one of them is about to feel the boot firmly in the back of their head … it’s the same one who failed at Miss Sixty … and this time she’s described as “corpse like” in her runway abilities …

Without warning, Charley and Grace turn up and deliver the bad news – one of them must leave, now. She doesn’t even get to say goodbye to Elle, the Models 1 folk think she’s so bad, they can’t let her continue in the competition …

… and that person is … I’m not going to tell you.

Oh really, you know my friend ... call security now!

So with 12 models left, there’s time for a quick shoot with some RED products. Amba is convinced that the others have stolen her poses and she calls them all “pathetic” before they go home for a roast dinner courtesy of Kirsty … but these models can’t even have a spot of grub without tensions flaring.

Amba won’t eat Kirsty’s food, and it’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back as the girls begin bitching to camera about her. Keen to smooth things over, Amba calls a house meeting which she believes clears the air, but her refusal to apologise causes even more poison to infect the already tense house.

The photo task this week is for the charity Beat Bullying, and to the surprise and delight of the participants, one of its patrons, Nicola “Girls Aloud” Roberts, turns up to give them a hand.

Instead of remaining cool (ish) like the rest of the gang – Delita can’t help but blurting out some gobbledegook about her brother’s aunt’s mum’s daughter’s second cousin (or something) knowing Nicola, Ms. Roberts looks suitably bemused and bored by the story.

As it’s a charity thingie, the models are pushed to their limits, unable to rely on their looks alone – something that some of them struggle with. Interestingly, the contestants who thought this would be easy (because they have been bullied themselves) actually seemed to find it more difficult than those who were worried they couldn’t find their inner victim.

Charlotte doesn't look much like a mini Elle here

Do you want to know which girl is the second to leave in this show? Do you?

Well, I’ll give you a clue … here’s what the judges said about a few of the contestants:

Joy “This girl is a superstar in the making”

Charlotte “Going from cheese to mould, she’s growing on me.”

Olivia : “I think she’s stunning” – although it was Nicola Roberts who said that, and what does she know about fashion, she’s just a pop star.

Suffice to say, one of the team have to leave , and this is what she says as she packs her bags:
“If I managed to get on BNTM and get to the top 11, then I think I have enough to get on out there, and carry on.” … I wouldn’t bet on it love …

… the show rolls on.
