Paije Richardson could be the next X Factor 2010 finalist to leave the show according to an online poll conducted by a Facebook application called X Factor Predictor.
The application polled more than 3,400 X Factor fans asking them who they wanted to save, the same question viewers are asked before voting in the all important telephone poll.
Although there are still a few hours of voting left before the results are announced, the poll currently rates Paije Richardson bottom of the pile, only gaining 2 per cent of public support.
Second from bottom was Katie Waissel, narrowly ahead of Paije with 3 per cent electing to save her.
If this sample accurately reflects the mood of the nation, it would mean a sing-off between Paije and Katie on tonight’s result show, and in the event of deadlock (the judges failing to reach a majority decision), Paije would lose his place in the competition after receiving the fewest votes.
According to the poll, flamboyant Brazilian performer Wagner Carrilho may survive again, currently placed third from bottom, attracting 4 per cent of the public vote.
Mary Byrne polled 5 per cent after her performance of George Harrison’s Something last night.
There’s a big jump in votes to Rebecca Ferguson who received 11 per cent of the vote, Cher Lloyd (17 per cent) and One Direction (18 per cent).
Confirming rumours that Matt Cardle has been out voting the other contestants by some margin, this poll reveals that the 27-year-old Essex boy is streets ahead of his rivals with a whopping 39 per cent of the vote, more than double that of his nearest fellow competitor.
Of course with any poll of this nature, there is a margin of error, and with the bottom four within three per cent of each other, it’s probably fair to say that any one of Paije, Katie, Wagner or Mary could get the chop tonight.
It’s important to note that the official X Factor voting numbers remain top-secret until they are announced on the results show and are not available to the judges beforehand. The percentages quoted here are entirely derived from the X Factor Predictor poll and in no way should be read as an official result or a leak.
Will the Facebook poll be right and Paije or Katie get the chop, or has the X Factor got yet more twists and turns left in it before the 2010 series bows out?
