Beehive City

This is Beehive City, a blog edited by Dan Sabbagh. It will focus on media and the media business, and how the media machine influences politics, popular culture and sport. For the moment it’s just a personal vehicle, but the idea is to see how far it is possible to challenge traditional news providers. If at all.

Guido Fawkes aside, Britain is woefully short of popular and influential blog sites. Yet in America, the Huffington Post is read by as many people online as the Washington Post (see here). As e-readers become more popular, the battle between print and online should become a bit more equal. Well, either that or we shall all fail very publicly…

Expect short daily posts…and on Fridays, a slightly longer read, trying to summarise the big themes. There may even be jokes, some of which may be funny too. Come back if it’s interesting, or go to the Daily Mail website if it’s not (but you’ll have to type in the link yourself).

From the first line, I can see you are missing the services of the subs desk more than you ever realised that you would.
